Looking good mate, what system do you have fitted there? Looks like theres not enough clearance for the extra pipework for it to be a TSR sp1 style so im guessing a Beet Ti half?

It's a titanium TSR SP-1 system

The rear pipes are just loosely fitted, I know from experience that you don't tighten anything on these systems until everything is in place, these are most likely the trickiest systems to fit and get right I've come across

In the plastic bag mate are the correct nuts and washers to space the end cans out properly. Hopefully the rvf subframe isn't too different.

Oh fair one, does the pipe from the front cylinders pass between the rear headers and the shock or go outside? If im honest after reading other peoples threads about fitting these systems it seems like more of a ballache than fitting the JHA!

Right here's another update. Tony's been working really hard and put in about 12 hours on this today. Seriously the guy is a bloody genius.

Yolks had been blasted and now they're wearing a new coat of paint. Also some lovely fresh head race bearings and dust seals to be popped into place.

So been given a fresh coat of paint. Although we're already talking about replacing the engine with a lower mileage one.


Forks have been stripped and rebuilt with a nice Rick Oliver upgrade thrown in for good measure.


Bottom yoke now in place with freshly painted clock mount in place as well.




Then came the time consuming part. Fitting the TSR SP-1 Titanium system. Knowing there was going to be a clearance issue I already bought a set of smaller style indicators from Rick Oliver. However fitting the system took Tony a large chunk of his day.






As usual the devil is in the detail. The undertray has been cleaned as has the wiring loom. As usual it's when you start to bolt things back together you notice the little things that got missed. One of the sprocket bolts seems to have missed the blasting and zinc treatment, that'll get rectified at some point.

We did have a deadline of getting it on the road for the Mayday run to Hastings, however time has just run out and I'll now be taking the RGV instead. The flip side of that coin is we now have a new deadline of August 2nd as it as to be ready for the track day at Cadwell. In all honesty it'll be ready long before then.

So the TSR SP-1 can actually be modified to be used with the RVF? That's mad!

Vfr and rvf axhausts are the same fitment wise, There's no extra modding to do in order to get it to fit the rvf.

Popped up to Tony's to drop off some oil and have a look at the bike.

Engine looks good with it's coat of black paint. Especially when all the engine bolts have been zinc plated.






Clocks now connected.


Can't get over how nice those pipes look.




There's quite a bit left to do but it is progressing nicely.

A bit of a bitter/sweet update this one.

Tony was putting the front end together at the weekend and discovered that something was out of line as the fork legs were about 1cm out at the top yoke. Well we hope we've narrowed it down to an out of line bottom yoke so that is going off to Maidstone motoliners to get inspected and straightened if possible.

However not everything was bad news this week as on Friday my VFR comes back home to stay after my mate decided he'd rather have an RGV after riding mine. I wasn't interested in selling mine though so he's bouht another one.
