spent most of the afternoon bending fins on the top rad trying to tidy it up, bottom rad is ok but its lost a tab mount so a new one is on the cards ,
ive also split the front calipers and cleaned them up ready for paint and new seals ,
also had a call from dave at brook suspension so will be sending the rear shock off in the week for a refurb, then i can move forward a bit on the bike , fairly productive day 8-)

What have you done with the rear tab of that chain guard mate?

@ marcus id love a nice gold renthal on the back there but funds are being soaked away on more important things at the moment, :(

@ hadies , im just waiting on a proper guard mount for the rear left of the guard , the right rear is just hooked over the tab on the swinger , once bolted up tight its quite solid, im thinking of cutting the right rear tab off the guard,
need some good shots of the tyga guard , as i think it just has the 2 left side mounts only , not sure

Nice build.

Hate to say it but alot of the steel components, like the bolts on the shock linkages and rear exhaust manifold, will rust up quickly if you have wire brushed them back to bare metal. Need to give them a coat of zinc or something.

arrrgh yes this has been worrying me so all the bolts that ive not replaced with stainless have been installed and torqued up, then a little coat of humberol clear to protect them from the elements  not the best solution but will see how they hold up for now.

rear shock went off yesterday to brook suspension, should be back in a week or so 8-)

the deciding factor for me going black was its a little different from the norm plus the fact the frame no matter how much i cleaned it , it always looked grubby and had lots of little scratches all over it and just looked tatty in general , powder coat seemed to be the only way forward , i could of rubbed it down and polished up but i know once polished it can be a pain keeping it that way
some more pics of the bike so far

:plus:

i learnt the hard way, did all the winter work, took it out for her maiden ride in February, and all the stuff id cleaned and polished was rusted!

mostly replaced with Ti, Chorme and Alloy Machined parts now :D
few bits left to sort, like the sprocket nuts, spindle at some point, and hub nut the (46mm one)

Yep those wire brush parts are gunna rust before your eyes, zinc coating is dead cheap. You could have every bolt on the bike done for a tenner!
