Actually, now you mention it, the headers look slightly wrong, in that there are no links between the downpipes, which is going to affect the mid-range torque. They look like they fit quite nicely though, so I wonder wether they're designed that way for a proper open 3race can?
In terms of how low the can is sitting, I think that's all about the link pipe that you use, because the original has quite an extreme length and curvature to get it up high. You could probably bend the end of the collector pipe upwards a bit to get the right angle, or use a different link pipe.

Let me start off by saying I'm not the brightest bulb sometimes. The stupid thing fits. I was being lady like and not giving it a serious lift up to the mount.

Pipe looks good, very similar to the beet one i have on the bandit but without the cross pipes on the down pipes.
The thermostat mod is simply changing the suzi thermo for a cbr600f3 one, they open a little later and so sit the motor a couple of degrees higher than stock. Factory pro worked with a guy i know in the usa and found this helped the motor a little.

Got around to the speedo last night. Broke it apart, cleaned everything and resprayed the mount and brackets. it was a real mess. Lots of corrosion and all the rubber bits were rotted.

I'll let you know if I decide to let one go. One is complete (was out of bike when some toe rags nicked it - they also left me the exhausts) and one is stripped down.

Sure does, 4 short bolts secure it.
