Is the petrol vacuum line on the right spigot on the fuel tap ? If you were riding for an hour it must be.

Take the idle adjuster out to where it is supposed to be instead of all the way in, that wont do any good.

Manged to get to the root cause of the idle issue (i think) But now have developed another problem. The engine is slow to start and makes a very strange noise. I've uploaded a video to help you help me as my technical terminolgy is not the best

Before starting here i drained and changed the coolent(50%water-50%anti freeze) as well as drain and change the oil.(yammalube 10/40 semi)

That is a very bad noise I wouldn't try to start that again, you may be doing some real damage. Are you able to take the cam covers off and have a look at the cams and valves? I might be wrong but as the clicking/knocking is rev related it may be a bent/broken valve.
I am sure once some of the others on here have had a look at the vid you will get a more in depth answer.

Everyone i have shown the vid to has made the teeth sucking noise lol.

I'm preparing my self for the worst and eyeing up replacement engines.

I would quite like to smash some thing right now.

that does sound fucked. Surely you can get the carbs off and the rocker covers and see whats what...

Bit of a nightmare this bike for you..it sucks. Saying that, am sure you can get it sorted.

I'll have a look at the weekend when i've calmed down. Tempted to just buy another engine rather than messing around, either that or take the whole thing down the scrap yard.

Hey i feel your pain, i had a similar thing about 8 weeks back. But if you do have a go at fixing it yourself, you will get to know your bike so much better and you will love it even more

Couldn't sleep so have spent most of the early hours out side on the bike. Got the rocker covers off, and the cams and egg shapped things(rockers??) apear to be very dry compared to the front ones also when i try turning the engine by hand i meet resistance when the rockers highlighted are in the postition bellow.



I'm no mecanic but i'm guessing this is an oil starvation issues. and i'm also guessing at least one of the pistons is making pretty patterns on the walls of the cylinder, but is there any think i can do short of changing the whole engine and oil pump?

Bit of an update,

Oiled all the egg shaped bits by hand(techinal i know) then tryied turning the engine over by hand again and a lot of the resistance had gone along with the squeaing/grinding noise had gone. there is still a little resistance in places but i can use my wrench to turn the engine with one hand now.

Noticed also that the the egg things pictured above and the ones too the right have marks on them, i'm guessing this is where they were rotating dry??

Am i pissing in the wind here??
