Re: NEW NC35 Owner - Is this speed common ?
Sounds like its 33BHP resricted.
Normally a set of washers in either the carbs or the exhaust system.
Fucking kills the revs on the bikes aswell which would explain the flat spot!
Also if the bikes an import it has a built in restriction in the clocks so it won;t go past 112MPH (180KPH), you need to take the speedo off and take out the restriction plate if you want to do 130MPH+ Think there is a topic on hot to do it somewhere on the site!

Re: NEW NC35 Owner - Is this speed common ?
Thanks for that ReeceWx
I've checked the clocks on previous page and put some pics up, that circular disc type thing isnt touching anything so I assume that this has been done ?
I never thought about restriction so I will get the carbs whipped off and have a look, I hope thats the case.
I have been installing 520 chain and sprockets today, 15r front and 38t rear, the bike did have on 15t front and 45 tooth rear !
I dunno if that had owt to do with the slow top speed but we'll soon find out.
Just waiting on another rivet link coming as mine was defective and also some new seals for the brake calipers then I can go out and test.
I'll report what I find asap

The half moon shaped plate?
Thats the restriction plate, i didn't think it was attached to anything but thats what limits the import bikes so just remove it and have done with it.
Theres a topic with pictures on here how to do, very useful!

I don't think so. The speedo runs off the gearbox.400_Rider wrote: I have been installing 520 chain and sprockets today, 15r front and 38t rear, the bike did have on 15t front and 45 tooth rear !![]()
I dunno if that had owt to do with the slow top speed but we'll soon find out.
Example:
10,000 revs in 6th using 14/45 gearing will show 120mph
10,000 revs in 6th using 15/38 gearing will show 120mph (ACTUAL speed will be much slower than above gearing at same revs).

I used aftermarket levers on my NC29 and the same thing happened.

theres a pin in the clock that stops it going over 110 you have to take the clocks to piece and bend the pin over
