We were given plastic 20L jerry cans at the circuit, and had to fill up at a local garage. The company which transports the bikes to Spain (David Hatherway) isn't allowed or insured to carry fuel cans. My spare tyres went on the stillage with the bike, but in the event my existing set held out and I didn't need them. Just as well really... the trackside shop was charging 45 euros to fit a pair
We booked cheap return flights from Gatwick, and only packed a small bag of hand luggage for weekend. All the other kit (tool, spares, full riding kit, tyre warmers etc..) went with bikes via road to Spain - price for hotel, shipping bikes and 3 days on track cost us £479, and we added an extra night at hotel to chill out before flying home.
On top of that we had to pay for the flights, trackside expenses - like fuel, food and drink, insurance cover and hire car

I'd be tempted to ride down there on the bikes - make a proper holiday of it! Looks like a great time though.

Most dedicated trackbikes (like mine) are not road legal, so riding in isn't an option. Plus if you crash and wreck the bike you'll have nothing to ride home... assuming you are still fit to ride in the first place. Some guys transported their own bikes to Spain using trailers, vans or trucks, rather than using No Limits own service. Google gives an average route distance of 1300 miles, and over 20 hours driving time to Cartagena from where I live in Kent. So I'll be sticking with the fly/drive/HGV land transport option in future.

Nothing so wonderful as Spain, a 30 mile spin around north Wiltshire yesterday before it gets cold. Stopped to take a photo, took my gloves off and for the first time this winter hands felt cold, a taste of things to come.

Had a close call myself and ended up in the gravel on one session. Classic case of staying out for too many laps, when I was starting to get tired and losing my concentration. 3rd gear bend doing 60mph turned in late and ran wide on exit. I had to stand bike up, but managed to stay off brakes and save it. I tried to re-join track but the high kerb forced me back into gravel, and the front nearly tucked on me several times. So in the end I rode down to next corner, before wobbing back to pits to cool off and change my underwearmanicguitarist wrote:I guess that that makes sense.
