Re: eBay 'specials' and other junk finds
First question I'd be asking is if it's "mint" why the feck has it been matt blacked? Stinks of accident damage at some point so I'd be giving it a complete plastics off inspection.jambon wrote:![]()
I certainly wouldn't be paying much more than £800 tops if it really is as good as he says, like others have said, originality is make or break when pricing exotic 400s.
Conventional wisdom says to know your limits. To know your limits you need to find them first. Finding your limits generally involves getting in over your head and hoping you live long enough to benefit from the experience. That's the fun part.

They were a blingy kinda thing in the late seventies early eighties micron and telefix used to sell them I once naively bought one thinking it would cure the handling of a ill handling cb750fa I had obviously I hadn't factored in the mismatched tyres knackered head bearings and fvq shocks at the time

Jambon, wait for this guy (Munky) to sell his (unless you in a real rush to get one nownownownownow)Drunkn Munky wrote:Looks ok and clean enough although the paintjob lets it down for me. Not that its bad but its not original and the price gap between bikes with standard paint work and aftermarket paint is getting bigger all the time. Plus its a dealer so you can bet they only paid about £750 for it, if you like it offer him a grand its certainly not worth £1400
I gota a nice standard type 5 NC30 coming up for sale very soon if your interested.
as from what I have seen from him (and many others on here) you know its going to be nicely looked after and if there are any issues there will be a full list of them (from what I have seen 'bad bits' from members on here tend to include things like 1x tiny tiny scratch - not something your usual ebayer would mention let alone photograph for you to judge for yourself). Also the prices asked for by such members here tend to be absolutely spot on from what I have seen and heard.
