No idea, but there must be some sort of trend with it as it seems to have happened to all of them :S

I'm going to be after an adaptor for the ignitech so I can play about with getting the tacho reading spot on

Picked an RVF engine up from Simon, it's mint, very impressed, I expect it will make it's way into the bike over the winter.

I've done about 50 miles with the Ignitech, with the stock +2 map, and I'm very impressed. The throttle response has picked up a bit, and the midrange isn't quite as bad as before. I'm having a small problem with it, in that when I give it some the needle kind of sticks for a second, then picks up again, it doesn't bother me that much, but if I can't figure it out I'll give Rick a buzz and see if he can help me out :)

Does anyone know anywhere that can copy the RVF exhaust cam profile and regrind my stock VFR cams to match? If anyone does and has a spare RVF cam I can borrow so I don't have to pull mine out that would be great, as you can imagine, utmost care would be taken to ensure they remain as I was given them

As for that flatspot, with those TSR pipes im running 124 mains, RO needles, stock 0.5mm washer, drilled slides, K&N filter and stock airbox and flaps etc. Theres not even a hint of a flatspot on mine and thats on a stock 30 motor.

Compared to having my NC30 ones ground to match NC35 ones yes, it's just finding a set that's the problem

I'm going to get the bike on a dyno before I start playing around with any other settings. I'm running 120's, stock needles and slides, no extra washers, pattern filter and all stock flaps and snorkel. I'm going to get a new filter from Honda soon to see if that helps, Rick says that he knows of someone who blames getting a flat spot from using a pattern filter

I'm going to fit my NC24 slides when I change the filter, and the current filter will have it's middle hacked out and replaced with race foam courtesy of Graeme France if I have any left after doing the CBR's.


As for the CBR, I have had a couple of bits from Graeme, 112DJ jets, exhaust gaskets and the aforementioned race foam. I'm now waiting on the BEET system from Japan, which should be here by the end of the month, I'll get pics as soon as I can. I've been thinking of what to do next with the CBR, I'm thinking of making my own wiring loom, I'll be dropping the lighting section but keeping the charging circuit.

I'm thinking of buying a second subframe to cut down to see how much weight I can save, and on that I'm going to try and be sensible about weight saving i.e not going to be replacing all of the fixings with titanium to save a few grams

im runnin a K&N filter and i still get a flat spot

shame, I'm not sure whether it's a rich or lean flat spot, so will dyno it first to see how it goes, the Ignitech did improve it though, plus I've got the other slides to go in which could totally screw with the setup, which would make any prior setup work pointless

I tell you what, I'm not in a rush so it's your call. I'll be fitting the mods this weekend and getting it re-mapped the following week by Triumph. Once all is done I just want to slap it on the rolling road to see if she's all healthy and putting out some good ponies.
