NEVER had that problem with my old CDI before it broke down. so its just a simple assumption, and im assuming its my current CDI. hence why i bought another one....
ever think that the damaged cdi is the symptom of other problems rather than the cause?
2 faulty cdi's is quite unlikley.

Right. How often does the bike run high temperature? These bikes run hot compared to inline fours anyway. I can 99.9% guarantee that your immediate problem is the coil packs failing. However, if this high temperature is above the norm, you may have another underlying issue like inadequate flow in the cooling system or a failing head gasket.

Have you checked for a spark when it cuts out?
Does it cut out on 2 or all 4 cylinders. [check for spark]
Each coil feeds a pair of cylinders, uncommon for both to fail together.
Examine the wiring where it enters the cdi, the plug, and the socket.

well i run the bike for about 20-25 minutes with some revving every so often, and once the temperature has reached a certain amount and once its started flowing into the reservoir the engine stops. and i have checked all spark, and there is none. untill i try it again tomorrow and it seems to be fixed.

If there are NO SPARKS, then try the new CDI first.

So the bike is static and not moving. Are you realy THAT stupid?
xivlia wrote:and once the temperature has reached a certain amount and once its started flowing into the reservoir the engine stops.
Your radiator needs forward motion to be able to cool the fluid properly - the coolant is getting to hot expanding and overflowing into the expansion tank.
Your bike is cutting out because its over heating.

There has to be a spark for the bike to run in the first place, the spark was killed because you cooked the bike.
when it cools down you will get a spark back - so stop cooking the bike.
Have you actually had this problem when riding the bike?

Mo, i take it you dont use facebook much? i had posted up a video, and an explanation on how this thing first started out.... il just copy and pase cause i cant be fucked typing it.
Erşan Uzunoğlu: no its the fact that its cutting out. it runs, and then all electronic signal to the plugs stops. i got stuck in the middle of the road, because the bike cut off while driving it at 45mph doing 4-5k revs. it was weird... i was going and it was all fine, and suddenly all spark at the same time is lost... and now this happened (as you can see in the video) it starts, and after a few half a seconds the bike cuts off...
Kevin Rouncefield: Seems to me like you aren't starting it right - full choke, no throttle and keep your thumb on the button til it catches. From the vid it looks and sounds like it hasn't 'caught'. How do you know all electrical signal to the plugs stops?
Erşan Uzunoğlu: the bike didnt need choke then because the engine was 100 degrees hot, when the video was taken the bike had cut out while riding at 45mph, i know all the signal to the spark was lost because, the bike suddenly stops... there was no gradual stop. it was running running then BAM. revs drop to 0 instantly. also i tested all HT leads against the frame, and there was no spark. i waited 10 minutes then i did this video, as you can see it ran, and then cut off... and this is happened about 40 times.. i couldnt ride it back home. a random person offered to bring his trailer to get it back to mine, which we did.
so yes, i was riding the bike when this thing first happend.
however, i have now got the CDI from geoff, i tried my bike again with the current CDI no start, and i have also tested geoff's after that... and the bike wont fire up. BUT there is spark with the goeff's CDI... but seems like a weak spark, so im going to buy the coils from Geoff.

I still want to blame something in the kill switch wiring.... :p

I think that you have a basic electrical problem - due to the crappy K conversions tail.
You also have some thick skin which is commendable! My money is that you can fix it..so keep on lad!

Ok fair enough, coils would be a good call and also the k-con tail mentioned could be the prob.
Just something to note,
i dont have you on my facebook profile so i would not get updates of your posts on there and i dont check the 400gb facebook page often.
If you are posting in two places - keep the posts the same so that people only following one thread have ALL the relevent info to give you a usefull answer to your questions.
