Get a Honda filter if you can.

Okay so I'm putting in a Honda filter, £50 what a bunch of

!! I will then have the carbs balanced and see what happens.
I wanted to check for air leaks so I used quick start around the rubbers, unfortunately I am a complete tosser and forgot to put the airbox on before doing this. I then decided to spray a bit in to the intake and it ended up bogging the engine down??? This will make finding air leaks difficult, is it normal? Your first thought will be that I sprayed too much but I tried again with just a small amount and the engine just bogged down less. So now how do I check for leaks?

You need the engine running first. get it idling and spray a bit below the airbox - into the V of the motor. If the carbs are not seated right they will suck this extra fuel in and the revs would rise

I know, I was just checking to see if the quick start does in fact raise rpm and it didnt. Sorry if I was unclear. Carbs are definitely seated right but maybe there are small cracks, question is what do I use seeing as the quick start stuff did not increase rpm.

Okay so I got the Honda airfilter which weirdly sorted out erratic idle. The bike is now in good condition bar the biggest problem I've had so far:
Everything is fine in low gears but in 4th and 5th it feels like the clutch is slipping, rapid increase inrevs with no increase in speed. It is worst at around 130km/h and is very difficult to get past this speed. Problem worsens with increasing temperature.
If it is not the clutch my only other thought is too much oil as the dipstick reads at the upper most line, is this possibly causing the problem? (Really dont want to have to drain fresh oil just to check plates if its not the problem, bike is for sale)
