Try telling that to Mr Plod when you have just knocked someone over.

Get it fixed before you ride it again.

Although, when i was about 8 i used to have a bmx with no rear brake, used to stick my size 4 trainer (adidas tango - i remember as my mom gave me a right rollocking when she spotted the soles had disintegrated) on it and press harder the more i wanted to stop - worked a treat - try it, it will save you the faffing about trying to bleed it out. A lolipop stick in the rear swingarm/wheel will also make you sound awesome.

To peform manouvers such as slow speed control, U-turns etc you need to use the rear brake to control the bike effectivly.

You don't need to be going fast to need the rear brake either.

I mentioned the last thing i remember you saying you did.. I didn't imply your still doing it, meerly instead of pissing about with less imporatant things make sure the bike is safe to ride first.

Even at 20 - 30mph if a child were to run infront of you, a working rear brake might provide enough extra stopping power to avoid a collision, same with a car abrubtly stopping.

The rear brake can also bleed off some speed if you go too fast into a corner.

It may seem unimportant to you, but it is important to have working brakes, it might save you, or more imporatantly somebody elses life.

It's alright though, as one of the mounting threads is fecked and so the rearsets cannot be fitted,,,

Its more of a big deal to spray a bike and drill / retap treaded fittings than it is to bleed a rear brake. The most important things on a bike are your tyres and the brakes - no one will care what it looked like when your in a ditch, I think most people mean well when they are giving you a nudge to step back and have a think about what jobs to prioritise.

I for one will be glad to hear your brakes work as I have two kids.

Just don't let your kids go to Inverness and they'll be OK ;)

Can you elaborate more?

Has the allen head churned out? Or have you got the bolt out and the thread trashed, if so are you heli coiling, or tappin up to m10?

the allen head is damaged, so i have to drill the existing screw out. and retap it on m8 again like i did last time. and it worked fine.
