Re: Smevs Bikes - Past and Present!
Ram Air left for now - maybe a winter project?!!!!
I have a Yammamoto system with single can so not a twin stack - maybe jetting down a size or two comared to yours Tony would be an idea?
Gonna do a search on the whole ram air stuff and research it some more.
I checked the carbs and they are definately112 rear and 110 fronts so someone has had them apart in the past.
I'll have to see Rick O for the RVF HRC kit - I already have the CDI set up as HRC
And the Track day is on Camp here at RAF Odiham on the Bank Holiday Monday - I'm noise testing again!!
Should be fun

Re: Smevs Bikes - Past and Present!
Ah i thought you had twin pipes, im only guessing that a twin stack will need bigger jets, maybe one of the jetting guru's will be along soon to confirm. Chris at dynopro might be worth a chat too about setting up the ram air, mine also has the bigger VFR carbs so no doubt you need a slightly different setup with RVF carbs.
If your gunna HRC the carbs then im 99% sure that kevlar airbox will work, the HRC setup doesnt use a filter and i think rick sells the shorts stacks too, your probably get away with using a foam filter and jet it down a little.
Im going to resort to the HRC setup on mine if the ram air keeps playing up but i think ive sorted that now, new plugs and found flakes of paint in the fuel lines so i reckon thats it sorted
Mine also uses bigger plugs, CR10EK's. again im not sure if these are necersary but RLR must fit them for a reason and thats good enough for me, your need to have the heads drilled out bigger and re-threaded tho. Probably not worth the hassle on a road bike.

Mike at BMC also does the big plug modd, he said the plugs are easier and cheeper to get hold of and give a bigger spark

One of those might have looked really good in the 2011 calendar...

Re: Smevs Bikes - Past and Present!
Another update - today I recieved a great package from another forum member - I can't wait to fit the item, but it'll make the bike look sooooo much better, well - in my opinion anyway!!
Its something I've been wanting for a while but couldn't justify getting it until one became available!
(am I being cryptic enough??)
Anyway look out for some pics in the next week or so.

Well...?
I know it's only been a day, but come on. Even a picture of the box would be nice!

ha ha!!!
The box is just a brown one covered in brown tape - and the size would give it away.
This next bit will give it away too - i snapped a stud while fitting it today - an exhaust stud - anyone have a spare they can send me?
What i have is a full Mercury twin stack system, with carbon cans. It looks frickin awesome.
I can't wait to get it fully fitted and hear it :) :)
