Pretty good price - ive seen them go for more.
As far as other bits go, the dog bone does what you're looking for but the rvf tri-link is better than the vfr item - it doesnt seize!
Rick O does an exchange item cheap enough.

Thanks for the tip Colin, I'll definately get in contact with him, sounds like yet another worthwhile thing to add to the list to buy
I sat and fitted the tyre I got from Alex to my white wheel last night, a little bit of washing up liquid and a set of tyre levers and it was on in 10 minutes :) Front mudguard is on, it's a bit bent I think, so is a total pain to get on, it's nice and secure though. I'm still waiting for an order from DSS with my lower panel rubbers and bolts before I can get them fitted.
The brakes still have some air in there somewhere, but are getting slightly better, they will actually stop the bike, but almost touch the bar
will get it sorted though. I have a set of shorty levers from china, which fit and work nicely, but unfortunately hit the clocks on my CBR, so with the raised bars on the RVF set up they should be fine, so will see how they go.

up to you mate, i only have this monday off, so if you want to arrange something that'll be fine, if not, any time after christmas :)
Started on the CBR, was going fine, got the carbs off, rejetted with the 110 dynojets from GF, started putting them on and adusted, sat them over the top of the rubbers and went to test the cables were ok and the open cable went ping
so rooted round in a box of spares and found one, fitted it, went to test it moved smoothly and and the barstard new one is totally f'ed
now looking like I'm not going to be able to use the bike till long after sodding christmas

whats up with the cable??? have you attempted to lube it??? ive brough back solid cables before with an over-night lube. it explains how to do it in the haynes manual - its easy.
Obviously, if its broken, its knackered but if its just an end off, you can buy grub-screw on ends to put on cables, they're a bit pants but if halfords have any, it'd get you by.
& the forks??? tomorrow may be cutting it a bit fine, so if you want to do it after xmas, thats cool - i'll prep the bike ready & get it up on the stand so they can be slotted in.

First one snapped about halfway along, the second basically untwisted itself, it's got loads of kinks in the grip end and slips out of it's housing when you turn it and locks up
got a new one on the way though, so will get it sorted ASAP, bit of a ballache, but can at least walk to work from my house
As for the forks, after christmas would be ideal mate, I'll get them boxed up, ready to go whenever you arrange :)

Never mind, worse things could happen. I think someone replaced the float bowl and slide top screws with stainless ones as they didn't round off at all when I took them out
I bought a cable off ebay for a tenner posted, it was sent out today, I'm really hoping it can get to me before christmas, but think it will be before new year =/
Good call on the courier, I'll leave the oil in them if you like, the adjusters all seem free, and the brass ones aren't chewed up at all :D

A few weeks ago one of my dads old friends dropped over to catch up, I was in when he turned up, we haven't spoken for ages, so he didn't know I had passed my test until he saw the '23 outside dads door. Many years ago he did lots of trackdays and novice racing and ran a CBR NC23, and had a couple of spares in his shed that he said I could have for free as he wouldn't be using them again.
About a week ago I got a big box of spares off him, only just looked through it as I've been silly busy at work, inside was a shock, r/h rear set with brake lever but no peg, set of metal heel plates, a pair of clipons a used rear disc, an ignition barrel that doesn't need a key to turn and some other odds and ends.
He asked me to pop over the other night before I took my carbs off to have a look at an exhaust to see if it'll be any good to me, had a look and was very pleased, looks like after christmas I'll be getting a spare system for the bike :D Karma for anyone who can guess what it is from the description
Black pipes, no centre bracket. 5 piece sprung system, 4-1 construction, alloy end can which uses a single spring instead of bolts or a slip on style clamp
