Put the clutch back together this morning, Started it up with the clutch cover off and the clutch spins. when the leaver is pulled in the pressure plate comes out and stops spinning (should have got a vid) I'm guessing this is what it should do??
Put the clover on started her up, put her into first and she tried to pull away but felt like it was being held back. Put it into neutral and back into first and the same but this time there was a loud squeaking/rubbing noise, coming from sprocket cover area, as i let the clutch out.
Bit stumped now.
Chris, i will take you up on your offer if you don't mind. Are you free during the week? Off to the misses folks for dinner now and to top it off i have a evil hangover - this should be fun.

im off on thursday this week mate. i have only just finished installing the cam chain tensioner in the blade. what a complete pain the arse to do. i have tried one of those ape manual tensioners as i have had 2 of the oem ones fail. good piece of kit just took a bit of fettling to get right.
i have to pop to magnet to sort out a kitchen for me mum about 9ish, so could pop round after then?

RESULT!!
Stripped the clutch down, again!! Decided to check all of the metal plates with a vernier and a few appeared to be cream crackered so replaced those. Also put in an extra friction plate, to make it upto 10. Put it all back together, started her up, into gear, dropped the clutch and all most put her into a wall as i wasn't expecting it to bite.
The only problem i have now is that the clutch cable seams a bit slack. I have the top adjuster fully out and the nuts and bolts above the alternator done up to the max but the leave still goes in a fair bit before it engages
Any ideas

The clutch lever is supposed to bite at the bottom...?

Ohh right, just seams weird that i have to have both the adjusters maxed out to be able to get it to bite. How far should the leaver be pulled in before the clutch engages? :S
Maybe the cable has stretched??

Oh there both maxed out to get the bite point to the bottom... your cables probably had it then.
With mine the clutch bites about half way out of the lever if that makes sense..

if you want to pop round to compare my clutch 'feel' to yours mate your more than welcome, i would guess my clutch starts to bite when it is about half way out or in depending how you want to look at it. think i i also have a spare clutch cable just encase yours is a bit worn.
im in to night up till 7pm then tuesday & wednesday night after say 6pm ( all night ) or pretty much all day thursday as i said. though in saying that i have got to take the pup to the vets a 9:45am apart from that im in pretty much all day.

cheers Chris, if i could actually get the bitch to start i would pop up. I'm guessing I've flooded her and i've also drained the battery. Taken the plugs out and there in the oven now. I also can't find neutral, can get it into pretty much every gear except neutral, any ideas?
I'm starting t hate this bike again, :doh:

I'm not quite at that point......yet! But give me a couple of days
still can't get the swine into neutral and gear changes have become very heavy, have to use a fair bit of force to get it into gear, is this likely to be a problem with the outta gearbox components???
