Re: erm woops!!!!
Cheers will give that a go been tryin to start it on the stand without the clutch bein pulled in. back in a moHissing sid wrote:Glad u got her
to start her up
1) turn key, ensure neutral light comes on, wont start if not in neutral and side stand down, unless clutch is pulled in
2) pull choke fully out
3) leave throttle at idle position ie dont twist it
4) 5 second push on starter button usually does the trick
any other probs, fire them towards us

Re: erm woops!!!!
made a mistake on the post, was in VFR750 mode!!!!
edited post to suit, sorry for the confusion
the side stand on NC30 are not fitted with a cut out switch, but, mines a jap import, suppose a UK model may have have a switch?
Once shes fired on full choke and NO throttle, slowly push choke in, maintaining high 2k low 3k rpms after a few mins she should be able to idle without choke, maybe 5 mins
I've left my NC30 for 3 years with 1/2 tank of fuel and she fired up on it!!!!!!!
I quit bikes after falling asleep on it doing 70mph on the A1M near peterborough
hope u get her purring

Re: erm woops!!!!
the fuel tap works on a vacuum, so is very unlikely fuel will come out even with the tap 'on' unless a vaccum is being created.

Re: erm woops!!!!
no. No fuel will come out the tap unless the vacuum pipes is connected to the nozzle on the tap. you should have two pipes connected to the fuel tap. one large one (this is the main fuel hose) and one smaller one (vacuum pipe) the vacuum pipe should fit on the smaller nozzle. sometimes its on the right side in front of the fuel pipe and sometimes its on the bottom.(Ignore the tiny nozzle snub on the tap this is an overflow) This must be connected correctly for you to have fuel going into the carbs. I take it if you have removed the tank you must have removed the fuel pipe also. Look for the vacuum pipe on the right side near to the fuel pipe and right rear carb. Do a quick search on here there are loads of pics on vacuum pipes.

Re: erm woops!!!!
Could it be the over wet spark plug syndrome
something I've never experianced, perhaps someone could confirm the symptoms?
Got to be worth whippin them out and having a peek?
at same time you could confirm if they are sparking, by resting the plug on the crank case while turning her over
you have got the kill switch in the ON position?
