Ok.....first bit of bling bought this week.

My standard rearsets were mashed to be fair.....right set needed a new brake lever, left set were bent forwards where the footpeg joins the hanger itself.

So after pricing up the options, i couldnt believe my luck when i found the below on ebay.

I made the guy an offer of £60 for the pair, and the deal was done! 8-)

Hello guys......long time no post :( ....i hope everyone is well.

From the last time i posted until now, the project has been at a standstill due to lack of motivation
To be fair, my trackcar was starting to take over my life, so i sold it and thought i must crack on with this

Just uploading some pics to show progress so far.........its still in the garage in bits

Ok, here we go..............

I had a problem with the bike being on the front paddock stand, the forks moved/sank lower on one side as it took the weight.....therefore, i couldnt actually get the front wheel back in as the spindle wouldnt line up :|

The car jack and a piece of wood came in handy......surprisingly sturdy aswell, and, i can get to the forks for painting.

Onto the bits done so far, doesnt look a lot, but the cleaning / sanding / masking / primering / finishing etc......takes ages!
Been doing a bit a day to keep going.

Fairing support was too far gone really, lots of surface rust etc....so i just rubbed it down and hammerited black

Image

Exhaust was rubbed down and prepped.....VHT paint applied......wheel brace came in hand to mount the exhaust too in the ground

Calipers cleaned down and painted "ford tibetan gold"

Same colour for the brake disc inners

Forks now painted....i couldnt figure out how to get the white plastic mudguard mounts off....so painted them aswell

Radiator end tanks prepped and painted aswell.

Image

Exhaust hanger painted.

Image

The air ducts were cracked in several places, so i had to fill the inside with fibreglass and smooth over the top etc, this took the longest out of everything done so far.....came out nice though.

Waiting for oil filter / engine case gaskets to turn up before i can attack the engine case covers.

Im working from front to back, so before the front end goes on, i can tidy up all the bolts and the engine where they have "furred up".

I've decided against painting the frame / swingarm black, as i know i would be majorly pi55sed if it didnt come out right.
So, just lots of autosol to clean all the bare alloy up.

Its moving nicely now.
