Re: 89 NC30 Restoration
Just from previous experience, i thought i had a mint tank on my NC30. no dents, scratches the paint was immaculate. 2 months of ownership and it sprung a leak on the seam, (common problem apparently) it leaked white paint all over my plastics and engine and the petrol damaged the paint on my mid fairing. Ive since stripped it with nitromors and the rust was all the way along the seam. So it might be worth checking and maybe replacing it with one you know the history of. Id hate to see all the hard work be damaged due to a tiny leak!!
Really nice job your doing all the same!!

Re: 89 NC30 Restoration
Cheers, i will check the tank. As for the bits to finish it off, i`m looking for a mint top rad, it needs a set of tyres, complete fairing bolt/fastener set, front pads and a full set of brake lines.Oh and the plastics, which are nearly done. It will be ready for early next year , but wont be on the road until the salt has gone. P S also need a new race can, something nice. Any ideas, was thinking of a tyga can?

The paint on the calipers and disc carriers is Plastikote gold no620/452. I`m also clear coating them to tone the metalic look down.

If your just after a slip on, blueflame, scorpion or beowulf have the nicest sound on a standard system IMO.
I had an oval Tyga can on my race system and it was just too loud (109db's) so I sold it on and purchased a Beowulf.
I swear by BT090's on NC30's which are great for track days or road riding. Not too brilliant in the wet though.
Goodridge lines are good value for money, I use them on both mine.
OEM pads are probably the best pads to use too.
Really liking your thread here, makes me want to strip my '89 NC all over again!

Re: 89 NC30 Restoration
this is making mine look like a piece of sh*t
went for a Fuel can on mine, special order on length and no badge. looks good in a subtle-but-nice way in my humble opinion: http://bikepics.com/pictures/1764751/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
