hehe nah i know the owner of the bike shop. he knows my family etc. if i wanted i could get it done cheaper. but ive pretty much robbed the guy. ima let him charge me proper amount . i got angel eyes fitted on my yzf r125 last year...he said he would take 30 quid off me. and the next day the mechanic said 295 quids for the labor.. so i was like....Kevin...i thought you said 30 and he goes yes yes 30... so its not fair on him i suppose xD

295 quid for angel eyes? LOL. That's like 8 hours labour. What crack was the mechanic smoking?

I get ripped of by mechanics so much that I've refused to go to them now. Some of them are also so incompetent, that they can't even do a simple job properly (like torquing the clutch nut on the RVF). I figure I'm better off buying the fucking tools for the costs they are going to charge in labour, and do the bloody job myself. That way, I have more tools for the future, and I know the job has been done properly. The saying "if you want something done right, do it yourself" has never been more true when it comes to mechanical things where I live.

woops i meant to say 195.. typo lol. but yeah thats true, its just that im not too skilled so i wanna give them to tighten and put the gaskets in, cause i already failed twice trying

I don't mean to be rude or aggresive, but after reading this thread... I think it's the best option at this rate.
I understand everyone needs to learn, but you do need a certain mechanical awareness before hitting the tools.

I would get your family friend to teach you a thing or two.

Ahh we learn by experience. Sometimes we get unlucky. I've never snapped an exhaust stud, but I've found more than my fair share of stripped threads on this bike.

Live and learn, reading a book can't teach you everything. Sometimes you have to make the mistakes in order to learn.

okay. so i used my dads car to jump start the bike quite often..and im worried now that the alternator of the bike is fried? i started the bike...and ran it for 20mins on idle. turned it off..and it wont click..the battery just buzzes....so i jumped it again and left it on for 30mins+ and when i got back the bike had turned off and the battery is completely flat...is that the alternator thats fucked so it wont charge the bike when its running or...something else?? i havent done any voltage tests yet... as its dark outside and i have no light source

it was working completely fine yesterday...it got very frosty during the night and after that it wouldnt work...has frost got something to do with this?

Whether this is you rproblem or not, from my experience, once a battery is in constant need of a charge a cold snap will drain it completely and although may run from a jump start will not charge.

sooo what should i do? buy a new battery or...
