Re: Cadwell 3rd and 4th August TD weekend
Another one that couldn't make it. I was going to bring my camera over for a few nice shots.
I ended up at work for 8:30, then off to Woodall services for 12:00 to lend my tank and airbox, off the Bimota YB7, to a fellow Bimota owner (who's bike caught fire and melted his tank and airbox). Then, with the aid of a mixer, layed 3 ton of cement (barrowed from the mixer, through a building to lay a floor!) as a good deed for the local reading room/community hall.
I was going to come over Sunday and saw most posts saying 'Home now, just....' so decided to do some jobs aroiund the home.
Looks like a great meeting, wish I could of joined in. Maybe next time!

Great weekend,
Top track, people, weather.
Was nice to meet some new forum members and be able to give the old 400's a good thrashing.
Big shout to the Darin and Rob for putting on a fantastic weekend, i will certainly do another day with you both, big pat on the back.
Good one Mark for sorting this out was a blast!
Chris.

Re: Cadwell 3rd and 4th August TD weekend
Really knackered in work today but what a totally awesome weekend and it was really great share my first ever trackday experience with such a top crowd. I haven’t laughed that much in ages.
Got off to a cracking start with a pesky flat battery then straight after the sighting laps of the first session overcooked it with a heart stopping excursion followed by a comedy negotiation of the mountain on the grass (2 bike lengths to the right), whilst every other fecker passed me using the black stuff! At this point I was thinking that I would be in the helicopter before the end of the day… But after I calmed down, my confidence grew steadily throughout the day as I nailed an ever increasing percentage of a brilliant circuit - what a buzz. Thanks to everyone in the group for their encouragement and advice.
Leaves we wondering why I waited until I’m an old duffer before doing this? Not sure that I can wait a whole year before doing this again.
Cheers all
Mike (& Aidan)

Re: Cadwell 3rd and 4th August TD weekend
I came up on the Saturday with a mate who had to pick up a bike from Lincoln en route. Unfortunately we then got stuck in a traffic jam for about ten miles between Lincoln and Horncastle, so we didn't arrive at Cadwell until mid afternoon.
Got to see a couple of sessions with you boys in (viewing one near the mountain and then at the Hall bends), have to say it was a real buzz to see the 400's and the two strokes out on the track again. It made me very envious!
I only clocked where you lot were pitched up on the way out (spotted Paul's YSR) so I didn't get a chance to say hello. Hopefully I'll be able to make a weekend of it next time...

Oops, sorry Paul, put two and two together. Your CRM did look and sound very cool out on the track though.
I'd also like to mention the chap on the Gilera Apache 125 who embarrassed quite a few bigger bikes around the hairpin.

I knew when i wrote TDR it wasnt right but i couldn't find TDX in the recesses of my brain. Your advice made a massive difference around that section so thanks very much, like you said though always felt i could go quicker everytime i went round it, Could have gone into Coppice faster each lap, its a great section of track when you get it welland link the 3 together.silver1956 wrote:Hodge, Think i must have been the old chap you were talking to! It was a TRX trackbike (not a TDR) glad our chat helped a bit. I have a few photos on my phone that i will post up.Looks like you all enjoyed yourselves. I sneaked off before lunch. Got a bit wet on the way home, but did a few of my favourite roads B656 from colsterwoth to melton mowbray, and the melton to Harborough road. Not so much fun on the transalp barge though.
Dave
Now all I need is for them to resurface chris curve to get rid of that pesky ridge!!

Great to tag along, meet some new people and fill my lungs with burnt oil/burgers.
Here's some photos that I took, mainly badly:

BB_158 features heavily but a few of you might also have been snapped.
