Well I had a good time even if it was a short visit, I'll make an effort to make the whole event next time.

Good to meet you too Paul, only been on this forum for 9 years!! Can't take any credit for the cooking, I only supplied the bbq but can't for the life of me remember the guy that looked after it

Good to meet some other new faces too, seems there's some decent lads (and lasses!!) on this forum.

Anyway just got to nip to the B+Q and then on to the pet shop!!

Had a cracking weekend. Met some great people and fingers crossed it'll be the first of many fantastic meets to come.

Had a fantastic day riding round the track and I have to say what a fantastic track. I can't wait until next years event.

Anyway here's some pics of the day.

Big thank you to the organisers of the day (Darin and Rob), thanks to the guys from Practical Sportsbikes and Classic Bike as well. Thanks to the guys who gave me the Gazebo and thanks to Tony for taking it home for me.

I have to say running out of fuel on the motorway only to discover it was already on reserve wasn't fun, nor was the mile push backwards up the hard shoulder to the services I'd just past. Oh well it could have been worse I suppose.

Well I had a mega (And bloody long) Day on Saturday. It was good to meet some faces and usernames off the forum as apart from seeing CRM at Oulton an odd time I’ve not met anyone before, sorry if I was a bit quiet but I was pretty knackered hence why I left after 5 sessions at 3.30ish as I was starting to make a couple of mistakes so decided to not push my luck. And as the other half had bailed off her horse in the morning i decided that i'd get some brownie points and get home a couple hours early and make sure she was ok.

Now I am crap with names so apologies if I get them wrong or can't remember.

Work totally ballsed up my plans of getting there on Friday night so I reluctantly set my alarm for 3.30am and went to bed at 9pm.

Landed at Cadwell for 7ish and spotted number 9 (CMSMJ1’s trusty bike) so parked up nearby and got unloaded and set up, noise testing, briefings, and stuff happened etc etc blah blah and then we lined up to go out, I thought it best to get behind CMSMJ1 and try and learn where to go as he has plenty of laps round cadwell to my zero laps. Truth be told I hated the first session and wasn’t keen on cadwell, I was shocking through both Charlie’s and Chris curve.

Spent the time between sessions speaking to an older guy who used to have a 400 but had sold it and had a TDR trackbike, he wasn’t riding but he gave me some sound advice about Charlies that stood me in good stead for the rest of the day.

Second session was a lot better and I realised that Charlie’s and Chris curve were a lot faster than I thought. I was also playing a game of spot the photographer and then try really hard around the particular corner she was on in each session.

As the third session came round I was a lot happier with the track and tagged onto the back of a guy on a very nice Castrol nc35 who knew where he was going, don’t think he was with us may be wrong though, think he had the cbr600rr seat unit on?!?!

I considered getting an hours kip in the lunch break but decided it may do more harm than good so went to watch the parade, which I think thay made a bit of a mess off, they should have put them 80’s at the back not the front but I guess it’s only a parade but it seemed that as they came to the mountain the bikes from the middle onwards were nearly having to stop and put their feet down as the queue had damn near come to a total stop.

Anyway learnt a lot about the highlights of Tramadol at lunch time and also plastic hammers and the explosive properties of zinc powder from the guy on the GSXR 400, good chatting to you mate sorry I either missed or forgotten your name.

First session after lunch was out in the first 8 bikes and managed to ferret myself to the front and get some good clean laps in and really enjoyed it 5th session again got out early and got some clean laps then had a pretty large and scary moment round chris curve as I crossed the ridge where the two strips of tarmac meet, I was genuinely looking for a out over the top of the goose neck but just managed to get it all together and round the right left of the gooseneck.

Decided that was enough for me, managed a 1.54.4 optimal lap and a 1.57.7 actual lap which is still slow in terms of the Bemsee grid that I’ll be at Cadwell with on the 14th 15th Sept, but at least I know where I’m going unlike when I turned up at donington with bemsee last weekend.

As has been said it’d be ace if we can keep this as a regular annual thing as it was mega to be out with similar BHP bikes that cant just blast you on the straight and then hold you up in the corners.

Best part of my day for me was getting to do some fettling on number 9, hope it was sorted by the end of the day Mark and realising that I had quite a few bits on my bike that used to be on RCjims bike, hope the battery lasted out the rest of the day. I also liked the fact that the second mark started taking his front wheel out 10 people were on hand to assist, good stuff that.

The drive home was really shit mind, landed back at 7 and felt like death. yesterday was a bit of a write off as well, watching WSBK and unloading the van was all I achieved!

Really gutted I could not be there.

I loooove Cadwell on the NC and it was an epic 400GB track day there several years ago where i first met many people off here and cemented my love affair with the bike .......and track days.

Hope you all had a blast

I turned up and saw a few of you on track but didn't stay long so didn't really find you. As for the guy on the vfr with clipping passes that mite be the guy I saw clip what I thought was a cb at the goose neck and brought them both down whilst trying to overtake

Hodge, Think i must have been the old chap you were talking to! It was a TRX trackbike (not a TDR) glad our chat helped a bit. I have a few photos on my phone that i will post up.Looks like you all enjoyed yourselves. I sneaked off before lunch. Got a bit wet on the way home, but did a few of my favourite roads B656 from colsterwoth to melton mowbray, and the melton to Harborough road. Not so much fun on the transalp barge though.
