Unfortunately Im pretty sure tony has changed plans + not building the rep, not too sure his first reason why but the phil mac engine he had for it turned out to be not was it was, it was given to me to rebuild + a 440 kit had been fitted at some point in its life, big shame

Was it the original Scott/Mac engine but modified some time later, or not the correct engine in the first place?

Yes unfortunately not having a hrc motor made he project a bit pointless so was sidelined a while back.
It was/is The correct engine but Was stripped of anything hrc a long time ago, it did have a big bore kit fitted

Hard to know if a race bike/engine if it's as when last used by a team/rider.
A friend bought an ex TT RC30 but the factory NLOB engine had been replaced with a kit HRC motor at some time.
I spoke to Phil in the Island last year, he had his 1992 Castrol RC30 for track demonstrations [he does not own it] but said a lot had been changed including the engine, but still a factory one.
I told him I looked at buying Hislops 1989 RC30, the first 120mph TT lap bike when Honda sold it in 1994 or 5.
He said it could not be, Whitham destroyed it in 1991 breaking the frame in two.
Buyer beware.
