WTF exactly......

Everyone has to start somewhere & learning as you go is as good a way as any but you seem to be on the verge of wrecking a bike due to silly mistakes.
Get someone who knows a bit about spannering to guide you through the basics before you well & truly feck things up :o

Next thing we know, you will be unscrewing the head bolts and removing the head to see if the pistons are going up and down.. :S

White smoke won't be oil. It'll be water / condensation.

The bike will build this up from standing anyway.

I really suggest you get a haynes manual, a torque wrench and get somebody experienced with mechanics to sit with you and go through some basic maintainace.

Get you youtube and watch as many maintainace videos as you can, theres some decents ones on how to do most things.

Theres nothing wrong with trying to learn yourself but you don't seem to have any basic mechanical skills at all... your on the verge of making a costly mistake and destroying a perfectly good bike.

The rocker covers have a rubber seal on them this is to stop oil escaping. Turning it over with them off will fling oil everywhere as the camshafts rotate.

Older bikes have their own nuances too, rusted bolts, stripped and sized parts, this can take many years for an expereinced mechanic to grasp, it took me a long time (even when I was confident in rebuild an enginge from parts blindfolded) to be able to confiendly remove a siezed bolt without snappign it off (the amount of people that snap ex engine bolts is unreal)

Again, knowledge is power, google and youtube videos on dealing with rusty / stuck bolts to get ideas.

If you try and can't do it yourself better to let someone else do it and learn from it than to break it and have to get somebody to fix it.
