In the past I've used an old skateboard and a car jack.RVFHooligan wrote: Dropped the motor by myself, didn;t have any help that day. Dropped it down on the lift, strapped it down, and then grabbed the bike in the front by the forks and lifted it up and over the motor, not pretty but it worked.

I go every year, come on over. I don't think there will be anything SUPER about the Superbike class next year though with the new DMG rules.calirvf wrote: Roadtrip to Daytona 200 next year...

Re: Another RVF thread!
Busy day today, bike is ALMOST completely broken down. Just got stuck at the end on the large hub nut on the swingarm, 46mm! I'll either have to go and try to find a socket that size, or get a big F'n monkey wrench. Did the intial, but not final, cleaning and degreasing of everything. It is now officially a "bike in a box" or rather several boxes. This will probably be all for a while, going to just take it one piece at a time until I get it all ready to go back together. In my mind I'm shooting for a Sept-Oct trackday, we'll see, no deadlines though.

I 2nd on keeping the frame orig. Here's a pic of a NC30 with black frame for your reference. Dont remember if this belong to a board member or not.

Re: Another RVF thread!
I don't know?! I think that looks good. I was all set to powdercoat in black and everyone is saying no. Although the original still looks good in digital pictures, up close it's not as nice as you think it is. I am just a little compulsive and anal about my bikes and want them to be 100%, especially on a project like this. I feel bad because I have seen some of the pics of the bikes in the UK and I understand that the weather is worse, and the roads are not as nice, and you guys ride the livin' #$%@ out of the bikes. Lots of higher mileage bikes in the UK (of course you have had them there longer) that really look well worn. So when I complain about the condition of this bike, those in the UK must think I'm an ass.
I had an RC-51 (SP-1 for you folks on the other side of the pond) and it had a black powdercoat frame and it looked great. Most sportbikes today ALL have black powdercoat. Didn;t the UK SP-1's or SP-2's have silver frames??? I don't think I'll do exactly the original paint scheme, so I'll have to try and photoshop some different colors and views. I loaded the fuel tank with nuts and bolts and a rust remover solution yesterday, and tumbled it and tumbled it, let it sit all day, opened it up, drained it, and it didn;t do jack @#%$! Just made a freakin' mess. I'm going to try another product and after that it's getting dipped. The rust in the tank is REALLY bad and it's throughout. If I'm going to paint it all it won;t make much difference.

My mother in law is heading over in a few weeks, with my sister in law, and a few nephews. I'll have to send them shopping.
