Re: NC30 Racing
Jake, so that's just 2 sets of tyre's for the whole season? how many races was that (think the bemsee class has 4 races most weekends, and 8 race weekends), 2 sets for all that would be far far less than I'd been told/expecting, not that that's a bad thing of course :p
Jimmer, nice to know roughly how much lower on a 17", according to the other thread 8mm gives a 35mm boost (so 22mm over stock), 10 would give a little bit more which I can't be bothered to work out right now, might just stick with 8mm though :)
Those are the rennsports pair that I found last night, was the best price I could find too, gonna look at ordering soon, need to decide on what wets to get as well as I might as well get them at the same time, might even save on fitting if I get the garage to do 4 wheels/tyres in one go :p

Re: NC30 Racing
see I told you you can get sponders for cheep, i got mine for £120 with charger and mount, and i actually went halfs with a mate who wants to race classic's (never gona race together) so it only cost me £60 in the end
£130 is good for tyres, i paid £160 for my 092's but im still on 18 rear so get screwed on price because of it.

im having exactly the same problem as you mate, im only 17, msv will let you do testing days with a race licence and under 18 tho, havent tried pembrey but i no lydden hill will let you out on a restricted licence, didnt ask about race licence
mallory park is good tho, every wednesday afternoon they do official testing, half day for £50 just need race licence

Re: NC30 Racing
You did indeed, I've seen a few transponders go for that cheap, doesn't seem to be that often and I always miss it it seems :p
I've got some BT092's on there atm, which I intend to use at least for the rookie weekend bit and the first practice day, quite like them on the road, never had a problem with grip, dunno how that translates to a track tyre though
I don't have the age problem, more the time and money one, was thinking of the brands trackday at the end of the month, but got no money due to moving + van and everything else and that happens to be the weekend I'm moving as well so another reason I can't go, plus not sure the bike will be ready by then, hope so though

im not sure how many races..
i do aintree and wirral so probs around 11 meetings with between 2 and 4 races ( subject to crashing
) each meeting.
i did the last 2 meeting on a set of new tyres, the rest on 2 rears and 1 front scrubs.
I was'nt pushing hard enough to need more than those scrubs, then when i was i changed to the new ones.
It was wet last year, so half the time the wets are out. lets hope we dont need them this year!

Re: NC30 Racing
Cheers, if I manage not to kill my tyres then that drops costs massively (was originally working on 1 new rear each weekend, and one new front every other weekend, so a hefty chunk of money each weekend) :D
Anyone know any decent places to get an exhaust? Mine is blowing so needs replacing, I know it's blowing at least at the end can (small hole right at the 'start' of the end can) and it might be going from where the front downpipes meet the main bit (think this can be fixed by someone on here for a reasonable fee?) so if it's just those I might be able to get away with an end-can and link pipe? or would it be worth going for a full system?
Keep getting tempted by the Tyga full system but it's damn expensive :p

Re: NC30 Racing
When does mallory wednesday testing start again?
Also ive just had a quick glace over this thread and I cant see anyone saying you can only use 100% water in your cooling systems, as said in your ACU handbook.
