hope every comes together as its a project i might go down my self when i get more time, got chassis wheels well, every thing bar the 600 motor, if that bdk air box doesnt fit can i have first offer !

as a point of note the thundercat clocks mount perfectly on the 3tj headlight/clock subframe which will save lots of messing about trying to get the clocks wired up as im using the t/cat loom.anyway-back to the shed!!

The 4JH Foxeye clocks fit perfectly on the subframe too. Lucky really as I am using those clocks and loom on my hybrid!

BOLLOCKS!! the t/cat stem is an inch longer than the 400 one so it looks like ill have get another lower yoke-anyone got one?

the bdk airbox despite my initial enthusiasm is starting to look more unlikely by the day,BUT until i can sit the motor in to have a good look i cant say for sure.looking at the space in hybrid1 for the ramair it looks nigh on impossible to get in but there is a little bit of space to work with.plus im going to use the t/cat rad which is very similar to the sp/4dx rad the only major difference being that the top mounting lugs face a different way and also the bottom of the rad mounts on a bracket on the front of the motor. the top bracketswill have to be cut off and will give the option of mounting the rad to suit the ram air snorkel/front wheel claerance.but until i can get the forks in and sorted i cant even think about getting the motor in.there may still be a problem once the forks are in as the early r1 forks are quite long and they may need the damper cartridges shortening to get the required fork length,but luckily they have tons of unused sag so its not really a problem other than i cant shorten them myself and its gonna cost me some more cash-oh well you cant take with you!!.then once the forks are sorted i need to mod the sp wheels so they go into the r1 forks which means i will have to use some 320mm discs to mate up with the blue spot calipers,but luckily i have a pal who is very handy with a lathe!.luckily the r1 forks and yokes were very cheap and were refreshed before i bought them so its swings and roundabouts i guess.i couldnt beleive how heavy the bottom 3tj yoke was-it weighs a ton-the r1 bottom yoke was a third of the weight with the tj stem in!!

That's interesting about the TJ's lower yoke. I might just go and get a yoke made (much later) for the few onces it saves.
You could have a word with NG racing just to see what the cost is ... but I guess you'll need a new stem too .... still you could get your friend to shorten the T'cat stame and rethread it.

Thats exactly what i thought about the t/cat yoke/stem but the stem looks like its been welded in by the factory.ive never seen one like it and i dont think it could be removed without damaging it.the wieght difference is surprising between the two lower yokes i might even weigh them to see what the difference is.

well another 3tj yoke is on its way and another 25 quid of the budget spent so i may hopefully have some sort of rolling chassis by the end of the weekend.the wheels need the new bearings popped in as do the swingarm and linkeage bearings but after the disaster with the r1/tj yokes ive lost a bit of enthusiasm the last couple of days and have been sulking around the house.a freind is going to make up tj yoke shaped spacer to sit in/ under the r1 yoke when the new stem arrives along with another r6 shock adapter so im cheering up slowly at the thought of actually making some progress.i thought i would have the rolling chassis together by now and be putting the t//cat loom on,but building a special seems to be %40 building and %60 waiting around for other people/bits to arrive/family to go out/tearing whats left of my hair out!!!!!!! :D but on the bright side ive managed to make £130 quid on the t/cat discs/front tyre/rh clipon so lifes not so bad after all :D :D :D

what does this r6 shock adapter look like.

there are some pics on the forum somewhere,try a search for r6 shock or something similar in the yam section.somebody cleverer than me might be able to post a pic for you maybe.a few forum members have made their own and one member was selling them for not alot of money.with the adapter you can mount a 06/07 2co shock.the shocks are dirt cheap to buy and very high quality with adjustable hi/low comp and rebound.my first cost £27 and the second £50 for an 800 mile old one.good mod for the 3tj as most shocks are tired now and for the price of a refresh on your 3tj one (about £80-£100) you could do the conversion and have a high spec shock for the same outlay.
