i guess a lot depends on how long you plan on keeping the bike for and how / where you ride?

260 is still 160 more than 100...

It would be more like £120 if the seals need replacing which I expect to need doing.
I can pay £160 for bmw shock but not sure to stay standard
I live on the Isle of Wight where there is plenty of opportunities to open her up, but it's jarring my back at the mo because the roads are so up and down.
I plan on keeping it as long as my body lets me

trouble with the bmw shock is that to get it setup properly could end up costing you a lot more if you want it done preoprly

the stock shock has already been tried and tested over 20 years and has oodles of setup data on it.

it might be a better shock when setup right but unless the rest of your bike matches it then personally id go for a rebuilt stock shock anyway.

upto you .. maybe some peopel who ahve it fitted and have got it sorted out and compared lap times will have some info to shed on it.

ive ridden all sorts of bikes with various states of suspension, a lot of it will come down to your riding style and how you ride it as to weather you will notice the difference or notice the shortcoming of a shock that isnt setup properly.

ive ridden a 2 stroke with all ohlins that handled like turd when it come to changing direction and holding lines as it was setup so badly.

whichever one you go for keep us posted.

Dearer again mate, but I got Mike Capon at Shock Factory to build one to my spec and weight and riding style.

Coupled with a rebuild of the front using Rick O internals, the bike is night and day over oem, I can plant the thing where I want it and it goes, if only my 2014 Blade handled as well as this puppy does.......................just amazes me how 50 something ponies can be so much fun

If you do contact him, and you are running a 18" rear, discuss building it for when 18s run out and you have to convert to 17"

Sticky 18" rears are becoming hard to obtain, well in the UK anyway.
