Can anyoen tell me if i can just plug the CDI right in? Will the limp mode effect it starting as i dont have clocks, clutch etc.

limp mode wont affect starting,isnt it only 5000 rpm when actually running/moving

When twisting the throttle, do all four butterflies move together? What am getting at is are the carbs properly balanced? They've been on/off and fucked around with quote a bit by the sounds of it, and your first video suggests the bike does run so I'm assuming the loom is okay as a result, are the carbs actually passing air in equal amounts?

The butterflies were all opening together and were, visually at least, equal. Perhaps not to the 1/10 of a mm but enough that it would run, even if a bit rough.

I think you need somebody that is a good bike mechanic and familiar with the nc30 to come help you look.

If I wasnt far away i'd come down one of the weekends and go through various things and get it running sweet.

Is there anybody on here that can give you a hand. It'll save you a lot of time and frustration. Even the most neglected and abused nc30 can be got into shape in a weekend or at least the damaged goods identified

Yup in the end turned out to be a wiring problem. (The coils were the wrong way round which we suspected) originally the bike wouldn't run at all after the rebuild (with the loom) and we suspected the confusing ignitech diagram meant we had the coils back to front, so we changed a setting on the ignition which we though swapped them over and it fired on the front therefore now presuming that problem was solved.
Anyway after some messing around with the standard loom and ignition the other day it came about the coils were back to front, that setting didn't do what he thought it did so now just changing the loom back the right way round.
