Disc off set?

If you spaced the calipers in would they foul the spokes?

This is what I have to be careful of, I'll need to space the calipers about 4mm to clear the spokes.

Are using twin piston opposed callipers, you could save some space by using single sided like the old steelie cbr 6 used, you can save a good 10mm off the back of the caliper.

I've just received a nice pair of XJ 750 seca discs, they look unused with no wear at all £42 to my door! They are the right dimensions for what I need but are also only 4 mm thick not 7mm like the original XV ones so weight the same as the much lighter FZR discs but look much more old skool.
Result.
I've also got a big lump of 7075 alloy to try to make some spacers out of, I bought a lathe 2 years ago specifically for this project so I might as well have a go making some parts eh?

VVS as for the sliding calipers I couldn't find any that were nice so picked up a complete set of Nissin 4 pots, pads and master cylinder in good nick for £100, they fit well with a small spacer on the mounts.

Ye I understand about the looks thing but if you had say a set of cbr4 calipers you could
1- remove the mounting plate and make a custom one
2- machine some of the rear caliper body away without compromising the strength, this is because they are just solid behind the rear pad unlike the twin piston type that are machined out for the piston.
You could pull 3mm back with no problems.
