i cant see how pilot make it run faster by much, you have to measure for changes in the range of 50rpm when adjust them. ive backed them out all the way before without that much rpm.

if its revving that high then the butterflies are being held open, the butterflys should be closed either your idle screw is in too muhc or your balancing screws are in too much keeping them open.. when set right the first hole of the 3 pilot jet holes shoudl just be visible on all carbs.

Yes after thinking about it Neo I am sure your right. I think the throttle cable had somehow pulled tight as I think I had to adjust the two locking/adjuster nuts when I put the carbs on. Fingers crossed I don't have to take hem off to much more :grin:
