Yes if you have spark then the next step is to check fuel. Carbs become dirty and blocked over time even when used daily. Don't forget to check the float needle and seats too while you're at it as well as making sure they're clean. The nc24 carbs have little filters on each one, no clue about the nc30 though. Most people don't think to check these.

Take the carbs off,
Clean the pilot jets and circuits,
Set float hight.

Okay thanks I will do all the stuff mentioned... I'm at the point where I've loosened the top clamps on the rubbers that connect the carbs to the engine, but the carbs don't seem to want to come off. Do I just need to pull/wriggle them off really hard or am i missing something?

Looks like I found where the fuel was leaking from, out of place rubber seal for the choke slide.

petrol shouldnt come out there, its only a dust seal not a fuel seal

Hmmmm okay, any other ideas where the fuel could be leaking?

I haven't worked on carbs before so I just want to get everything clear before I start disassembling. The carb jetting guide in the v4 section seems to cover cleaning and checking the jets and emulsion tubes so I will follow that guide. As for the float heights, I dont have a haynes manual, are there any guides on how to do this?
