So if you just took the speedo out completely when turning it into a track bike (i.e. just disconnect all wires) and remove it from the bike what would happen to the speed restriction function?

It will only run on 2 cylinders after 5000 rpm.

That doesn't seem to have happened though. I've got some other problems but not that one.
So just in case what would I do to avoid it running on two cylinders having removed the speedo - this is an NC35?

If it doesnt run on 2 cylinders with the speedo removed it probably already has the Speedo mod on there in the form of an M-max / hrc box or even a resistor

So a HRC CDI eliminates the 180kmh speed restriction then?
As I disconnected the speedo and installed the HRC CDI at the same time I was preparing my bike for track only use that must explain it.
