Don't spend too much on it, unless it's a keeper. You'll never* get back what you put it and it will only ever be worth £1000 tops for a super-clean original/restored to original 3EN2 despite what Practical Sportsbikes or ebay might tell you.

Did my first resto on a 3EN2 this time last year.
Cost was 3x what I would get for it; and thats using stuff from stock bought cheap years ago.
I had to write off the cost as a learning curve for the future.(have it down to the bare bones now)
Ask here first;others can save you a fortune.
If your in time; Baldy ,bid on them Exup cables,I am off today and doing a "stocktake" and found I will not need them.

That shim kit will run to £63 delivered,if you get clatterd for import duty (say a 50/50 chance )it will cost another £10
You can get the kit over here for about £74.
There is a lot of shims you will never use if you only have the one bike,but the shims fit a lot of diff. makes and models.
It is very handy for busy workshops.
You dont know if it will work out cheaper till you do the work and the maths. ,

Yeah, you need to write down all the shims you have because with a bit of mental anguish you can calculate it all out and move some around, you might get away with only needing a couple ... just depends.
