i love it..........

My bikes seems to really fuel up at low revs but soon as it is over 7000k it comes alive...... i wish it is was summer and i would be out on it tonight........ bring on sunday with no rain!

My nc30 will only do 125km before i have to switch it to reserve. I do ride it hard and its has a ART can and been rejetted on the dyno. Is this normal?

i had about the same fuel consuption then changed my plugs all 4 & improved my consumption even wen i thrash it over the wknd did 200km of riding & 50% was done at 190km/h & managed to get 18km per litre, or 5 litres per 100km. maybe u wanna check ur plugs jus make sure they up2 scratch???

I am experiencing pretty bad fuel consumption. 8.2l/100 km. I travelled at most so far, 110 km before switching to reserve and having to refuel.

This is what happen when I last rode:

The VFR ran out of fuel and I switched to reserve to the petrol station (which was about 1500 metres away). Filled up with 9.5 litres of fuel and reset the trip meter. Road along the motorway at 6th gear between 6000 rpm and 7000 rpm at around 100 km/h (60 mph). I covered 110 km (70 miles) before needing to switch to reserve.

So, that's 9 litres and covering 110 km which gives 8.2 l/100 km (34 mpg). I made it 9 litres to make it simpler and the half litre resetting the reserve back to 2 litres as some would have been used for going to the petrol station.

Should the VFR not attain around 5.6 l/100 km (50 mpg)? I expected to cover near enough 230 km (140 miles) on a full tank not half of that or around 260 km (160 miles) using the full 15 litres (reserve giving an additional 30 km (18 miles)).

I never rev the VFR sitting at the lights, I either leave the throttle and not move it or go into neutral and take my hand off.

Is there something wrong with the VFR? I want to attain at least 6l/100 km (47 mpg).

depending on how you are riding then it is worthwhile giving the bike new plugs,filters etc and maybe double check its not running rich,maybe get the bike on a dyno which will gve you a better idea.
tbh you do not need to work out your mpg by worrying about reserve or anything like that,keep a note of the litres of fuel you use to fill her up,take that away from the 15litres capacity and work your mpg out from there whilst comparing it to your trip.
so if it takes 10 litres to fill her up and your trip meter is reading 100km then you know you have used 10litres of fuel for 100kms of riding!!!!!simple eh? lol!!!!!
thats just an example,you should get a lot more than 100km to 10 litres of fuel.....that example works out to something like 28mpg

What state is the Air filter in? Renewing a dirty air-filter does wonders for the mpg figure. A good service, Oil / Plugs / Air Filter might fix your problem.

The only other thing I can think of is that it has had the jets changed and is running very rich now. Though i'd check the air-filter first.

I get 230km to a full tank before reserve (driving it hard too)
