Kick this old topic up...I read all over about "HH" pads of Nissin. I know that RO sells good genuine honda pads for 22 quid a pair (I do have bought a few sets of him). But I like to know what are the HH pads or the OEM Nissin pads compared to their official Nissin listing: the choices are standard (NS), sintered (ST) or even Race (RC)?

Kicking up..anyone have some info for me. Can I use braking wave discs with a new set of genuine honda pads of RO? Or is the bite way different and not best combo? Or do I really need new Nissin HH pads? Next week new tyres and changing discs and pads for the long trip foreign.

It doesn't really matter what you use in terms of compatability.

Feel / component life is the main issue and all depends on what you prefer.

Maybe i'm wrong but I believe OE pads for the VFR are Resin / Organic (sometimes called GG) and not sintered.

Now your differences.

Sintered tend to last longer and work a little better in the wet, they last longer and dont tend to fade as quick at high temperature, if your heavy / riding on a track a lot then probbal your best bet.

Organic pads bed in quicker, intial feel / bite is much better but dont work so great at long high temps and do wear out quicker, being a softer material your discs should last longer.

Many people buy sintered just because they think they must be better as they are used for "racing"

if your mainly riding on the street id recommend to try some oe / organic pads first, they have good feel and are kinder to your discs adn provide plenty of stopping power

thanks Neo. The current pads are genuine honda ones with NC35 genuine discs and have plenty of feel and still have plenty of meat on them. Will try set-ups in the next week when the weather improves overhere.
