Had a look at the tool when I got back to Sussex last night. What the pic I posted doesn't show due to the angle it was taken at is that the end of the tool does indeed have a 'v' as I remember. My anxiety about hollow rivets is cured - it's identical to the tool I used the last time I did the chain myself. :D
