Re: Gasket Sets
Ok I have done some more digging and I am not so sure that it was vesrah that made the OE gaskets. As far as I can find the o rings and valve seals were made by a firm called Arai and I suspect they also made the gaskets but cannot confirm this.thunderace wrote:Yakama wrote:Thanks guys, out of interest does anyone know who it was honda got to make the OEM stuff?

Re: Gasket Sets
Do you mean the infamous 'gasket set A' and 'B'? DSS list both for the 30 as temporarily out of stock, although I was under the impression they were discontinued. The 35 ones are listed as such. I also half expect that your question was rhetorical! However, I'm 99% sure you can get all the bits as individual items, save for I think one or two things such as the gasket that goes under the cover that sits on top of the cam cover with the breather hose connection.
NC30 fiche lists Arai for the o-rings, although the gaskets are anonymous....

Re: Gasket Sets
The problem with buying them all individually is it costs a fortune. From DS for two head gaskets and all the valve seals it was gonna be over £150 alone!speedy231278 wrote:Do you mean the infamous 'gasket set A' and 'B'? Re: Gasket Sets
What would be the point to this? No guarantee a manufacturer could make them any better than the other pattern manufacturers on the go right now!speedy231278 wrote:iDemonix wrote:Is there even scope to approach a manufacturer about producing pattern ones if necessary?

Re: Gasket Sets
Well, yes, that's very true. However, if you can't buy a set, what can you do other than pay through the nose, or use pattern? I find it slightly odd that they've nuked the NC35 sets but not the NC30. I expect that most of the bits are the same, but there must be odd differences or they'd have the same part number. Perhaps when I'm bored at work I'll take a look. Not that I have an engine to rebuild, but I guess you never know when such useless info actually becomes very useful....Yakama wrote:The problem with buying them all individually is it costs a fortune.
