If it was sized it wouldnt turn yes, it wouldn't run either.

The noise you described sounds like some kind of metal on metal contact.

The low oil is bad.

While you have the tops off check the valve clearances, if they are very tight your noise could be one of the pistons hitting the vavles still.

Once thats ok refil it with the right amount of oil and see if you still get the noise.. if you do you need to pinpoint where it is coming from.

If you are really lucky it might have just been clutch noise / something non-terminal that was made worse by low oil.

Your camshafts dont look worn out which happens quickly if there is no oil at all, so maybe it is ok.

If your are unlucky then the big-ends might have starved of oil and ruined the engine.

Hopefully you will get it running soon. I cant see the actual valves from the pictures you posted though, have a look in the middle of each spring, you will see the valve stem, they should all be there, and not dropped down

I will check those valves tomorrow. is it an easy fix if one of the valves dropped?. Or do you think there would have been damage done to the piston head?

I see there is a nice coating of oil on the valve springs and cams so im lucky.

I think im going to take the whole bike apart anyway and clean/paint it. Hope i can find tyga importers here. In sa

Well its not a difficult job(but quite "involved") if you replace a valve(with the right tooling). Consequential damage could be a damaged piston from a dropped valve.

A wild stab, are the spark plugs all in & tight, whip them out & have a look at the gap, colour & general condition.
You will need a 13mm deep socket.

i will have a look at them. i was going to replace them anyway. going to do a full service as soon as i've fixed it. plugs also wont accout for the tapping noise.

mmm i wonder if one of my coil pacs arent working. i will test that to.

What do you think are the chances of me being able to charge the old battery. its been dead for years

I'd reckon on getting a bike that worked before wasting money on fancy pants tyga anything..

no point with a bike that looks good and doesn't go.

My tuppence is on shagged big end bearings - apart from blowing my race bike up by a vlaves to piston interface - all the dead NC engines I have seen (and had) are big end failures due to low oil.

you need to get your hands on some tools too - rotating the motor with a 14mm socket lets you feel the resistance nicely, using a spanner does not give you that.
