I too told myself, just get it running and see what its like for a bit. Its v different to my nc23 for sure so would need to check its for me.

But thats not happened and as its taking me so bloomin long. I am seriously contemplating stripping the whole thing down (which is a lot faster than putting it together) and not worrying about rushing it but just making a decent job.

This is the first attempt at a job like this, but we all start somewhere.

Vtr1000 callipers on the way now. Can anyone tell me if the nc30 master cylinder and braided lines already on the bike will be ok with these callipers on nc35 forks please.

Think you may need a different master cylinder, something to do with lever travel?

is a vtr1000 front caliper the same part as a sp1 caliper - sorry if its a noddy question. I have a left vtr1000 2001 caliper but need a right, does it matter which model its listed as?

Cleaning - is fairy liquid and elbow grease as good as anything? caked in hard to shift brake dust, i reckon on splitting the caliper, removing the pistons and a soak, scrub, then a sly half hour in the oven (to get rid of moisture) will do the trick.

Thanks.

wheel acid is good for brake dust, don't leave it on too long. Also brick acid, diluted. try both on a small area first

No, vtr calipers are the same as rvf400 and they don't fit nc30's.

Thanks cammo - figured the diff out now (thanks to porndog), sp1 calipers have 2 pad slider pins, dont know the technical term for them! - I bought this vtr1000 caliper on the off chance it was an sp1 but it turns out it wasnt. Only have a left and needed a right.

Will fit my 35 forks though I think, however I have simply cleaned it up and may just sell it, although it looks nice now! On the look out for a better brake setup.

Amazing what a bit of elbow grease will do.

Update.

I am very happy - sourced some new bits aso bit of an update so i can keep track myself on what I have!(all of this is from forum members) I have boxes everywhere now!

NC35 yokes - this was the crucial bit i was missing, however buying these has meant I can carry on with the nc35 front end - result of which is - i have been spending money I really shouldnt again. :o
Pazzo levers
CBR600rr calipers
braided lines
gsxrk4 m/c
nc35 carbs (main jets 108's all round)
B (ig) B (astard) sockets
Silicon rad hoses and stainless clips

Just sent off an email to RO for 35 adapter, fork upgrade, oem fork bushes, advice on new main jets.

Question
Will the nc30 airbox fit NC35 carbs

has anyone experience of fitting 35 carbs to the 30 - what main jets did they go with?

have also put a wanted add up for a few bits i have left to source for the front end.

I have now officially spent way too much on parts but there is no turning back now. The front end is going to end up costing me more than the bike originally did......doh. But the light at the end of the tunnel is that its going to be nice when its put together, I already know that.

just not too sure the type 3 scheme is going to be the best for what i am doing to the bike but time will tell.

Sourced a k7 gsxr1000 flywheel so might do the genie conversion at some point.
