Hey VFR, Just so you know in Australia as a sport tourer the Road Attack 2 has an absolutely fantastic name for grip and longevity. Pretty much every sport tourer I know uses it now. For general commuting/riding with some weekend twistys and a few track days, sport attack 2 is amazing. I race on pirelli SC-1 front and 2 rear, but too freaking epically expensive.

Really money aside i look at my tire choice like this.
On my ZX636, what do I need?
I commute in the dry and wet, I do an occassional track day on it (mostly use my RVF though) and maybe every so often a weekend ride. So my choice naturally is going to be Sport attack 2. Hella grip rain hail or shine. Average longevity but it will stick like shit and heats up super fast.
I will alway choose stickyness over longevity cause I want that extra saftey margin.*
However, if i did way more km's, I'd use a road attack.

Equivelents in the range might be the Q2 sportsmart, or the new pirelli rosso corsa or michelin power pures.
The rest is like underpants, they all grip well, actual times around a race track may vary by 1 second (depending on rider) but in the end, some underpants just fit better for you then others.

I am gonna get the conti sport 2's for my RVF. Local bike shop said they would do it for 220 fitted, not bad considering they are 210 posted from eBay!

Mate the more i use my sport attack 2's the more I like them, i'm taking a set as wet tires to race on incase its pissing down at southern downs. My line up for the dry is Conti Raceattack Competition (Soft Front / medium rear) (not the raceattack endurance! - used to be called raceattack street) but the proper competition ones.
For the wet, sport attack 2!
i'll report back on the 7th and 8th.

Then I got Bridgestone BT90's and they're brilliant - warm up quicker and grip better, although obviously they wear out quicker! They last me about a year, and I'm on my 2nd set just about worn out now. They are much better on trackdays and gives me a lot more confidence. Highly recommended. :)
20000kms? wow! I couldn't get 5000 from mine! I got supercorsas cause i just wore the edges off the 092's....090's worked as well as the sc's and both wore evenly....i hated removing the 092's with lots of center tread left and bold edges lol....not great feel when getting faster either but good to go commuting on

Great feedback on the Sport Attack II's. I just fitted a pair to my 999s two weeks ago, it's rained every free day since! I've got Sport Attack I's on another bike and it only gets dry use but I've never been expecting more than they can offer
I got mine from www.stick-stuff.co.uk £205 inc delivery and £25 quid for fitting locally.
I bought a 160/60 x 18 Road Attack for the NC30 but everyone seems to have slated the size so I'll probably go with BT90s for the '30

they should have "Knee down by the end of your street" on the sport attack 2's... would happily race them as my "Wet" tire... since I can't afford "Wets."

Good deal, I just ordered a pair for the NC30.
The Sport Attack II's I fitted to the 999S are great. Suffice to say from riding out from 0miles they inspire as much confidence as the well scrubbed in set of Mich 2CTs that they replaced. Only done 20 miles on them so far but very impressed, I'm 1/2" off the edge of the tyre already!

Well they contacted me re the order to say that they're sorry but they were made in 2008, so they would prefer not to send them, which is good I suppose!
