Re: New bike
I'm liking this bike more and more all the time, still got the full Honda toolkit including the sparkplug spanner and chain adjuster, I've been removing the alarm tonight along with the bar weights and levers.
I still can't believe it's 12 years old. :D Everything is so clean and corrosion free I don't think it's seen rain!
There are a few faults, mirrors have cracks in the bottom[0], one of the three points where the two rear seat panels screw together has cracked (the middle of the three), the seat screws aren't original, there are two tiny chips to the paint on the tank, when the alarm was fitted they drilled the LHS seat panel and undertray twice for the alarm[1] and one of the front discs has been replaced with an EBC one[2]. I'm just nit picking really, it's a 12 year old bike and I've seen worse condition 2 week old bikes. Oh and it needs a new clutch cable plus the rubber band that holds the tool kit in is missing!
Also every NC35 I've seen in the flesh doesn't have a reflecter and appear to have the mudguard chopped, the fiche doesn't show the back of the mudguard, I take it there should be a reflecter under the reg plate? I hate the little stick on reflecter you need for the MOT, I think it looks crap. I shall probably take some scrap black anodized alloy I have and make up a reflector bracket for now.

[0] They're original and in quite good condition apart from that, I'll swap them with the ones on NC35#1 though as I bought them only last year.
[1] It's a dallas keytag so one hole for the LED, one for the keytag sensor.
[2] I missed this when looking over it originally but there was reference to the LHS disc being warped in a service report in 2002, I presume this to have been replaced around then and taking a closer look they're different!

Sounds like you have a very very good start to what i'm sure you'll turn into an excellent bike.
Yes there should be a reflector bracket there, but it's removed as the UK reg plate is too big to fit with it on. Give me 30 mins...

Re: New bike

Just had a browse for bikes for sale in Japan, they usually have the reflector still there, you can make it out in those pics..

Re: New bike
Yeah, not too happy about that clutch adjuster as that's what's frayed the clutch cable, that'll be replaced with original Honda, along with the headlight mounting screws as a previous owner replaced 3/4 screws with red screen screws, except they don't fit properly as they're too long, rather than cut them down they just screwed a nut onto the screw first...Neosophist wrote:I See red screen / screen bolts and red clutch adjuster thing? :S Mine had the same but it was all blue haha
Why do people insist on replacing special fasteners with crap?
Also I found out the rear case for the clocks has one screw mount and one post missing and the post on the front subframe that goes into the headlight is bent and missing the rubber block.
Bah humbug. Still an excuse to buy stuff from tyga, expecially as they list the 'meter case' for rather a rather reasonable price and the postage doesn't make sense to buy only one item. :D

Re: New bike
did you even take it out for a spit before loading them 2? Looks like your Tyga account is gonna grow rather quick...
