armi400, did you grind the linkage off abit to get the shock in? or just direct swap in? :peace: if it needs grinding, i need to standby some tools or whatever. dont want to get stuck with the shock 1/2 way. :peace:
Mate, i haven't done this yet....was just explaing how to get the weight off he suspension for you to carry out the work.
The link above suggests that the linkage IS ground down abit but I myself have yet to do it.
Sorry for any confusion mate!
Dunno bout anyone else but Im confused :? :?

Ben, hello.. did you buy a GK76a shock and you have a K7 for sale or you didnt buy the K7? lol

Ben i think Armi was just saying that when you get round to fitting the shock the best way to take the weight off the suspension is with axle stands under the shock linkage ( i used a trolley jack) As for the K series shocks I know some of them require a small amount of the linkage to be ground away to fit, but if memory serves me that applies to the K4/K6 shocks the K7 is direct replacement. :peace:

okay, guys. sorry for the confusions.
my current shock seem like a SP's shock. it came with a reservoir. (not sure if its called correct) i'll post some pics soon. as i also dont know what shock i'm using @ the moment.
now i just ordered a GSXR600 K7 shock from ebay, which is on the way. so i need to know whether anyone has tried on a K7's on gk76a? direct fit or have to grind off the linkage like gavasta did. if yes, i'll need to find some tools that can do the job. thanks!! :peace:
by the way, Tonyj. that was a good idea, using a trolly jack!! so to jack up the swingarm or the linkage?

these my current rear shock's pics...

Tonyj,
have you fixed your K7 shock? mine was fixed by workshop. my problem now is the spring doesnt clear the dogs (as what gavsta named) now i need to put in spacer washers but the 2 shanks that locks the bones are too short for me to add in washers. i need to get a new longer set. i need the diameter of the 2 shanks. my bike is running so i dont wish to take them out for measurement. rather prepare them before i take the old 1 out.
hope you can help me by giving some accurate measurements!! thanks!

bumping this as i think some one might be interested in this. its the same shock i have on mine without doing any modification. (pain to fit as swinger has to come off but worth it)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-GSXR-7 ... 1c25e20b82

going really cheap there normally around £90 posted

Hi Marsbar, i took my swinging arm off at the weekend to fit my k7 shock what a fuck on :? - could have done with a removal tool but made do by gently tapping it round with a screwdriver. anyway I was lucky and got my shock for £40 posted off the bay. The shocks in place but Ive got the whole back end off the bike at the mo as i sort subframe etc for paint.

Not too hard if you got the tools wd40 and patience.. ;)
