The 07 R1 coils I have are 13cm from end to end. I'll get some pics later of them in the engine.

I'm planning this mod on my nc29 using 2007 R1 coils in series but I'm wondering about the increase in current, would it make a better spark or damage the cdi.

NC29: 2.0 to 4.0ohms
6.0 to 3.0amp

07 R1: 1.7 to 2.3ohms (0.85 to 1.15 x2)
7.0 to 5.2amp

Will potentially 1 amp make any difference? or should I get a set of 01 to 04 R1 coils which are a better match?

01 to 04 R1: 2.38 to 3.22ohms (1.19 to 1.61 x2)
5.0 to 3.7amp

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Phil.

*edit*

Disregard the above!
Just tested the coils I bought and all the primary resistances are coming up as 1.2 ohms each so they are probably not from a 2007 R1, but I don't mind as they will work perfect in my NC29

I did mine with CBR100RR 2007 and I was say both size fit perfectly and make some space for HRC airbox. No tested yet, because I need wiring new EFI module and Ignition Control.
