Surfer - Yes, you can get the necessary test certificate to run a bike `daytime only` over here and it`s all perfectly legal.

Rhory - It is more `R` than `F` and the number plate logo does say `F1 Hybrid` (horticultural joke)

Hi Rick, that is very nice you have created there. I like it! Thumbs up!

But what happened to the original RC30 engine? Maybe I have missed some info on this...? :peace:

His original rc30 is tucked away in his dining room( like Angela would let him) but this is a completely new build using an rc30 frame zxr forks 750f motor and FI

Rhory has that pretty much correct, only it`s F1 as in TTF1, the race class that the RC30 used to run in, not FI as in fuel injection, and F1 Hybrid as per definition below...

" F1 Hybrid is a term used in genetics and selective breeding. F1 stands for Filial 1, the first filial generation seeds/plants or animal offspring resulting from a cross mating of distinctly different parental types "

I still have (and ride!) my original RC30 which is a proper UK spec bike converted to J-spec cosmetics `cos I prefer the look (the number plate logo is `Turning Japanese` on that one) and this one is a `just for fun` project built from scratch to make constructive use of the attic full of assorted RC30 spares that I had accumulated in 8 years of buying, trading and ebay cruising.

So the answer Jason is that it never actually had an RC30 engine - in keeping with my well known `fun on a budget` philosophy, instead of paying anything from £2000 - £4000 for a half decent RC motor I went for the VFR option.

The 40,000 km motor in the bike cost me £85 complete with all ancilliaries from my local breaker and the 17,000 miler which currently sits on my bench awaiting a possible 827cc kit and head job over the winter was £37.50 off ebay. I rest my case...!

I borrowed Alex`s tank mount camera and shot some on board video this afternoon which he should be linking in on this thread soon if it`s turned out OK.

Rick, I can imagine that you have stocked a lot of RC parts over the years, so admit that it is an good decision of you now to build this hybrid of them all :peace: Engine wise...yeah, those engines are silly cheap

Love to see the link with footage of it running.
