They just drop straight in and replace the nc30 slides. Something is amiss if they don't fit tony!

The slides are longer than the standard nc ones which make it difficult to get the rubber to sit in the groove, I could probably be done with a little time but I just wanted to make sure I'm not missing something first. If you say they just drop in then there's something wrong somewhere.

Eh? They were fine when I tested them in my carbs Tony but if you are having problems get them back to me and I'll swap them for the set that I'm currently using.

Im sure its just a common problem mate as jim (reversecylinder) has the same issues with his. Ive just been back out there and had another go and it went straight in

went to the next carb and couldnt get it to fit, tried another slide same problem. Im going to strip them anyway today so i'll see how i get on with them.
Im just uploading a video of me trying to fit one

your see what i mean then

LOL, I watched that with the sound down but I'm guessing you were being a gutter mouth during that?
I know what the problem is, I had it when I first tried to fit mine and its a simple fix. The diaphram has shrunk due to being out of a set of carbs for a while. All I did was gently stretch the outer edge the whole way around between my thumbs and forefingers so it sits in the groove easily. Once I did that I found the easiest way to fit them initially was to have the diaphram so it's sits down on the slide rather than the way you have it. Insert the slide so the diaphram sits in the groove but bung a bit of kitchen roll or rag in the carb body so the slide can't move when you put the cap and spring in. It should all seat fine. Once you've done that take out the rag/kitchen roll and the slide should drop, if it doesn't the diaphram hasn't sealed properly and you'll need to do it all over again.
Once it's been in there for a little while and had some use it'll be a doddle to take out and put back in.

HRC Slides or NC24 ones?
i'd like to compare the NC24 ones to a genuine HRC slide if anyone has one
