Don't chop the standard system if it's not already been cut!

Lots of small but heavy-duty sockets, adjustable bars, universal joints, small spanners and loads of plus gas and occasionally heat and time / patience and you can do the job without injury or damage to the bike :-)

Don't cut your original system, there are loads of already cut ones on eBay that you can pick up for less than £60. Remove it, bubble wrap it and shove it in the loft to accumulate!

Take your time and take off everything that you need to in order to get to all the joints and bolts. I took the rear subframe off with not too much bother. Drain coolant and remove rads so you can get a good view of whats going on with the front header pipes.

Penetrating oil and patience may get them off, but I did that and still managed to snap all four front studs. I locknutted three out and had to get a nut welded onto the remaining stubborn stud!

I'm only taking the rear headers off and the can, leaving the fronts on. I have a set of cut rears ready to go on, I've decided though for now it can wait until after the summer. I intend to pretty much dismantle the back end while I'm doing it to get the best access possible, wheel off etc hadn't intended to remove the rear subframe but maybe I will do that too.
