From what I understand about brake bleeding, I just need to attach a clear piece of tubing to the bleed nipple (after unscrewing it) and keep pumping the brake (and pushing the pistons back in) until all the liquid in the pipe has no bubbles. And keep the reservoir topped up. Although, could I not just run the clear pipe back in to the reservoir so it tops itself back up?
Why not fill in the location in your profile and see if anyone is local and might help out?

Fuck my life is there a technique to fitting these seals? Seals and pads arrived today, I pumped the pistons out and gave them a quick clean with a rag and some brake fluid, I've taken off the metal bit (idk what it's called) and greased the slides with copper grease - but now I'm trying to get the new seals in. I got the old ones out which weren't in overly bad condition but the smaller were a bit tarnished.

I've got the two big seals in (piston seals?) but for the life of me I can't get this finnicky little dust seals in, anyone have any tips? Taken 5 minutes out as I've learnt from experience shit like this will make me fly off the handle.

compare it to your old one?

and have you cleaned the seats of the seals out, the caliper doesnt look to clean and its paramount that there medically clean before you start adding new seals and stuff.

am i right in assuming you are soaking the new seals in fluid to make them a little more pliable and soft. I found it fiddly but they should go in reasonably easy mate...

FUCK IT. Absolutely fucking impossible. waste of my fucking time. AGH.

Just going to look for new calipers with seals already in or I'll just take the stupid things to a fucking mechanic. Spent about 90 bastard minutes now and they are just not going in. One is in but it's not seated enough to let the piston in, once you start trying G clamp that in it just pushes the rubber out. They look the fucking same as my old seals but who knows.

Why are the littlest stupidest fucking jobs so much of A FUCKING BALLACHE.

I scraped around the seats with a small screwdriver and allen key but other than that it's impossible to get in there.

Fuck this shit.

I need anger management.
