I have no idea if this will help but here are a few images of "relevant" dimensions so you can see if this wheel might fit.

140/70-17 Avon tyre loads of tread. 17x4" rim. 17mm axle. 240mm disc. 37 tooth sprocket. Overall width about 19cm (could be adjusted a bit with spacers)

I wouldn't be too surprised if it fits, Honda does like parts bin compatibility.

ps: I still get annoyed at this board's inability to deal with big picture files.

Amorti - post the "IMG code" link from the Photobucket pic (fourth one down) and it will display the pic, not the link? ;)

It won't because the pictures are too big. It's hassle to resize them. Why doesn't this board do it automatically like most others?

Difficult conundrom you are in. Restore or sell your bike on? I haven't seen pictures of the whole bike to make a judgement whether it is worth putting money in a rear wheel refurbishment. If you want to do it properly you will have to get a spoked wheel because that fits with the look of the bike. You know I love the NC36 but at the same time I have to say that the bike is a money pit: if used regularly the tinware will rot away quickly.

I formed my opinion about the rims that they are probably made of untreated alloy. Hard to polish up. Easy to crack up also - I had to fill a small hole with 2-component epoxy glue.

Hagon polished and respoked the wheels of my NC36 (with stainless spokes). They did a pretty good job. You can always ask them if they can do a rim replacement for the number of spokes that you have.

FYI I looked up on the David Silver website whether you can get a complete wheel replacement:

42650-MBE-000 WHEEL SUB ASSY.RR *Y
This part will be special ordered in for you from Honda.
Honda are showing that their stocks of this Part are very low.
It may take up to 3 weeks for the part to arrive with us.
Please email us if you'd like us to try to get an ETA for you before you order.
Price: £620.82

So, if someone charges you ~£250 for a wheel refurbishment then probably the price is right. If that's all that stands between being stuck or a lovely bike riding Summer then I know what I would chose.
