Re: HRC carb tray and velocity stack - NC30
Superlite made some nc30 hrc stacks from carbon fibre and they turned out ok, but ideally they need to be made from something flexible or you can't get them under the carb top plate to mount properly. If they're not flexible it's difficult to find an alternative way to mount them.Variablevalves suck wrote:@ cammo, what are the NC30 stacks made from? and how do they fit/connect onto the body. I am making parts from carbon for my bike and have a load of small offcuts, could the stack be made from carbon (ridgid) or are they flexy in the way they have to fit. Same withe NC35 i read there are differnt lenghts for the NC35.
I think you could probably make the rvf stacks out of a rigid material, at least they would probably mount up fine. The standard short stacks are a cheap, good solution though IMO.
There was talk some while ago of getting some nc30 hrc replicas made (som good CAD diagrams of the stack also), think it went awol I can't find the thread now.

True that. My carbon stacks were designed to be integral with a carbon bracket (the metal thing that joins the carbs). Finished the prototype and fitted, but never got to the testing stage. Probably would have done the job, but I found some HRC stacks and lost interest.Cammo wrote:Superlite made some nc30 hrc stacks from carbon fibre and they turned out ok
There's a pic of a carbon stack here:

Re: HRC carb tray and velocity stack - NC30
Cheers for the link SL, i have a load of small off cuts that i aim to use so after reading the stacks are rare i was thinking it might work. Think the RVF could be made but they seem to be availableish, im assuming the small NC30 one needs to be soft/flexible in the way it fits so is a no no. I will look for somthing else to use up the cloth on.
