Next. Onto the front disks. As is to be expected they were looking a little bit tired so I thought I would sort them. Stripped, wire wool to take off the bubbled paint (would have loved to get them blasted but nevermind), then primed and topcoated.

Masked.

Sprayed the gold first, then remasked as the outer inner edge of the disk where it joins the bobbins looks like it was originally black on the outward side. Instantly regretted it when it took me another hour but there we go.

Sprayed.

Finished.

Happy with the finish. Bubbled wrapped now waiting to go back on, just got to clean up the disk bolts and get some thread locking compound.

One more post before I go away for a week on Wednesday. Seeing as I know I won't need the bike for ten days or so I decided it was time to get the wheels powder coated. They are looking a little tired and although not terrible, there is a horrible bare patch on the rear wheel where what looks like brake fluid has been left to eat the paint away. Off to Cam Coatings to get sorted for when I return.

Before.

I had a bit of a mare getting the front wheel bearings out as well. The spacer between the bearings didn't want to shift onto the diagonal as is suggested in the Haynes manual so I couldnt get any real purchase on the inner race of the bearing with my drift to tap the bearing out.

Anybody else have that problem? Any tips? As it was I got my friendly local bike shop owner to tap it out in two minutes but it did annoy me that I couldn't do it myself. This is MY project! lol.

As she stands. (No pun intended)
