Please don't do that. If it is that seal and you're 100% it is get it changed properly. Check the water pump seal mentioned above too.

alright advice taken.... i'll wait for pictures to be uploaded before i decide my next move on how to deal with the problem.

it seems like it isnt a big deal to split the crankcases for you guys eh? every single mechanic i went to quoted me ridiculous prices when i told them about the potential problem.. is it considered an overhaul?

Well i would expect to pay about £400 to 500 plus parts. at that sort of price, it is just as cost effective to get a decent low milage engine.

Second pics are of the output shaft seal, and clutch pushrod seal (clutch pushrod seal is the small one that i have removed and tuned sideways in the second pic).

i visited the mech and his diagnosis was to change the output shaft seal and clutch pushrod seal. was feeling very happy about it after it was done.

i went home and when i went down to my basement carpark to see it the next morning..... IT WAS LEAKING AGAIN

sigh... looks like its the water pump/o ring or an act of god... wasted so much money on this and its still not fixed. annoys the hell out of me

Take all the fairings off
Give the bike engine a good clean. Dry it up and wait. I had an oil leak and for the life of me I couldn't find it until i cleaned the engine. Found the oil to be leaking from one of the side engine bolts near the dip stick. So it could be any bolt or engine gasket ect
Also try cleaning the engine so it's dry, start the bike up and let it warm up then rev the bike up to near the red line but don't go very near it if u get what I mean. That speed it up the oil leak for me

apparently my gearshaft oil seal is leaking again... changed it one more time...

Wear on output shaft + new seal = leak. I only mention this as I had a similar problem on my tzr 250 . like the man says give it a clean and spark her ( i assume ) up wtach for the leak. I assume the shaft sits on a bearing which we all know can wear . this will also introduce play in the shaft.

ffs dude just change the water pump seal, it's a $2 fix and don't need a mechanic to do it at all! Very straight forward, everything you need to know is in the Haynes.

I bet you it's that. Any other oil leak on these bikes is easy to trace but the water pump o ring is a tricky one!

GUYS. Problem is solved...

all in all. gear shaft seal, output shaft seal, and clutch pushrod seal were detected to be leaking. swapped all of them with original honda parts.

water pump seal wasnt leaking though...


side notes
i had to replace my gear output shaft seal twice. i didnt use an original honda part the first time so i guess its important to use honda parts for these kinda things..

i did not open my engine to replace my output shaft seal. my mechanic did some slight alterations to my seal and guaranteed me it wouldnt leak in a long long long time (i'll keep you guys updated on it)
